History of the Company

1907 Founded as the "Rheinisches Kleineisenwerk
August Ruhfus" with products ranging from
flexible and pressed parts to sheets and
coil springs for European railway etc.

1959 The foundation was laid for growth in the
production of hydraulics with the implementation
of the first honing machine. This progress was
resolutely advanced in the 60s and reached its
first major success with the design and
manufacturing of hydraulic mine props.

1964 The hydraulic department was consistently
expanded. The design and manufacturing
of complete cylinders (telescopic cylinders)
was launched.

1971 A new administrations building became a
necessity because of the fast-growing
hydraulic department.

1981 The realisation that clearly and precisely
detailed processes do play an integral part
in a growing business resulted in the production
of the first quality control handbook.

1982 The "August Ruhfus GmbH Federn-Hydraulik"
was founded.

1994 By this point in time, the production of hydraulics
had vastly exceeded the manufacturing of
suspensions. Owing to business reasons, the
manufacturing of suspensions was halted.

1996 The documentation of processes, which had
begun in 1981, was confirmed in 1996 by the
Burean Veritas International(BVQI) with the
EN ISO 9001 Certification of Quality Management.

1998 The company name renamed the RUHFUS
SYSTEMHYDRAULIK GMBH due the closing
of the production of suspensions and the
expansion of hydraulic sector to include
complete systems.

2003 Go-ahead was given for major investments
in manufacturing.

2004 Reorganisation of capacity planning and
production control.

2005

Enlargement of the plant with the aim of
doubling the dimensions of the production
capacity for hydraulic products.
